Report Language for FY 2026 CJS Appropriations

The FY26 CJS (Commerce Justice, and Science) Appropriations Bill passed both the House and Senate and was signed into law by the President on January 23, 2026.  The report language connected to the CJS spending bill included language that was made stronger due to calls made by VOR advocates.  Thank you for your advocacy!

Congress is now finalizing the FY26 LHHS (Labor, Health & Humans Services) Appropriations Bill.  Please call your U.S. Senators and ask them to “Please contact Senate Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Susan Collins and request her to support House LHHS Report language that pertains to Developmental Disabilities Protection & Advocacy Systems in the final FY26 LHHS Appropriations Bill.  The report language supports the right of individuals to access intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disability and congregate work and day programs."
